ONCE UPON A TIME

Do you know the memory of the body?

ree

you know why in some moments it's a gesture

a look

some music

and our body reacts unexpectedly

uncontrolled

and it doesn't depend on us

do you know what violence is?

you know what it means to be afraid to cross the corridor

to say no

to look in the eye

do you know what it means to fear of existing too much?

you know the marks on the skin

that tell a horror story, a childhood or fear,

associated with a belt strap

that comes to inscribe itself on your body

it's not the pain

that passes

It's the fear

the shame

your silence and his and hers of those who see

do you know what the violence of words is?

do you know what a violated childhood is?

ree

when our brain registers the tone of the voice

a specific expression, a disturbing sound in an adult's speech?

you don't think there is an end

believe that this is normal

see objects of the house not as mere objects

but as weapons and torture

understand from the sound of your voice

whether you are in danger or not

not being able to seek help

because no one has to know or imagine

the guilt

the immense weight of guilt

and you believe that you are not worthy of love or perhaps

too much greedy of wanting to take it from those who have none

and therefore of deserving a just punishment

do you know what hope is?

that burning sensation

gentle warmth on the fingertips

in the middle of the chest

behind the neck

joy

ree

as there is an end to everything

as you are entitled to it

and everything will be fine

everything will be fine
